The initial cure time is 4 hours of application, but full curing may take 2-3 days depending on the humidity and temperature. Within the curing period, the following should be avoided:
- Parking under a shaded tree. You don’t want tree sap on a fresh coating.
- Allowing bird droppings, sap or pollen to sit on the car and bake in the sun.
- Allowing contaminants or hard water to sit on the paint (avoid parking near irrigation sprinklers).
- Washing improperly using brushes or abrasive towels on the paint.
The ceramic coating can reduce the likelihood of water spots on your clear coat, due to its hydrophobic properties. However, it is not completely resistant to hard water spots, and it can still get them if not addressed promptly. Although it is less prone to etching than the factory clear coat, it can still be affected by water spots.
To maintain the effectiveness of the ceramic coating, it's important to remove water spots, bird droppings, tree sap, etc. from the car's surface promptly and with care, as per the provided after care instructions. Be sure to use a gentle touch when cleaning the paint.
