CERAMIC COATING CARE GUIDE/WARRANTY

Ceramic Coating Curing Process

The initial cure time is 4 hours of application, but full curing may take 2-3 days depending on the humidity and temperature. Within the curing period, the following should be avoided:

  • Parking under a shaded tree.  You don’t want tree sap on a fresh coating.
  • Allowing bird droppings, sap or pollen to sit on the car and bake in the sun.
  • Allowing contaminants or hard water to sit on the paint (avoid parking near irrigation sprinklers).
  • Washing improperly using brushes or abrasive towels on the paint.

The ceramic coating can reduce the likelihood of water spots on your clear coat, due to its hydrophobic properties. However, it is not completely resistant to hard water spots, and it can still get them if not addressed promptly. Although it is less prone to etching than the factory clear coat, it can still be affected by water spots.

To maintain the effectiveness of the ceramic coating, it's important to remove water spots, bird droppings, tree sap, etc. from the car's surface promptly and with care, as per the provided after care instructions. Be sure to use a gentle touch when cleaning the paint.

Washing:

  1. For best results, the car should be washed on a bi-weekly basis to avoid excessive contamination build-up.
  2. Avoid carwashes that use brushes, as these can cause abrasion and wear down the coating.
  3. Avoid washing in direct sunlight to minimize streaking and water spotting.
  4. Wash from top to bottom leaving the dirtiest sections for last to avoid contamination and abrasion.
  5. Use the "two bucket" method - one bucket for your rinsing your sponge/mitt and one for soapy water.
  6. Use separate soap and sponge/mitt for wheels.

If you're washing the car yourself, we recommend using a foam cannon with a pH-neutral carwash soap (Adams Car Shampoo, Chemical Guys Maxi Sudz 2)

Drying:

  1. Dry the car completely and never lit the car "air dry." Tap water contains minerals that leave deposits, creating water spots.
  2. Only use quality microfiber towels for best results and avoid aggressive wiping.
  3. You can use a blower to blow crevices and cracks but be careful to not collect contaminants and drag across the paint.

Spot Removal

  1. Never use compounds/polishes to polish the coating or remove surface contamination.
  2. Do not use excessive force to remove spots. Bird droppings, tar, sap, road paint, etc. should be removed to avoid staining or hardening in the coating.
  3. You can remove spots from your coating by using a pH-neutral shampoo and spraying it directly on the spot, or by washing the entire car. If you are unable to wash your car, you can use a spray bottle filled with distilled water and car wash soap. Spray the spot and rinse it thoroughly, then use a soft edge-less microfiber towel to wipe away any remaining soap.
  4. Bird droppings, tar, sap, etc. should be removed as soon as possible to avoid temporary staining or hardening on the coating. Any staining left behind from the bird droppings will break down over a few days without affecting the coating.

Interior Maintenance

  • For best results, clean all lether/vinyl surfaces bi-weekly.
  • Vacuum carpets regularly.
  • Immediately wipe off spills on leather, vinyl, or fabric.
  • Immediately absorb and clean stains on carpet.

Key Tips

Removing Contaminants

Ceramic coatings have a very smooth surface, which causes most substances to be easily removed by its self-cleaning properties. To remove bird droppings, bugs, and tree sap, use a mixture of water and soap or a small amount of vinegar. Afterwards, wipe the surface with a soft, edge-less towel.

Washing Schedule

To maintain your car's appearance, it is recommended to wash it every two weeks to prevent excessive dirt buildup. Use mild soap specifically designed for cars and avoid using high-pressure brush washes, high PH cleaners, and bug/tar removers. Additionally, avoid washing your car in direct sunlight to prevent streaking and water spots. Start washing from the top of the car and work your way down, saving the dirtiest areas for last to prevent spreading dirt. Use separate soap for the wheels and the body of the car

Automated Washing

Always go to a touch-free wash! Using an automated car wash with brushes will void your warranty. Our ceramic coatings takes 2-3 days to achieve full hardness. Please handle with care and do not wash the vehicle for the first 2 weeks.

Annual Inspections

Annual Inspections are the recommended process for ensuring the coating is maintained and care for the vehicle is properly executed. Annual inspections should be carried out by an approved applicator within 30 days before the anniversary date of the last service to ensure peak performance and warranty validity. Although durable and long-lasting, annual inspections ensure maximum gloss and protection from ceramic coatings.
